What is a Check Valve or Non-Return Valve in HVAC?

A check valve, commonly referred to as a non-return valve or one-way valve, permits fluid to flow in a single direction. Its primary function is to prevent backflow, which is the reverse movement of fluids within a pipeline, thereby ensuring a unidirectional flow throughout the piping system.
