Cartridge Fuse in HVAC

WHAT IS A CARTRIDGE FUSE IN HVAC?

A cartridge fuse is a cylindrical safety device utilized in electrical circuits to safeguard against overcurrent situations, such as short circuits or excessive current flow. It contains a fuse link—typically a thin piece of metal—encased within a non-conductive body made of materials like ceramic, glass, or porcelain. When the current surpasses a specific threshold, the fuse link melts, creating an open circuit to prevent further damage.

Purpose: The main purpose of a cartridge fuse is to protect the PCB board of air conditioners during voltage or current fluctuations. These fuses are commonly found in various domestic, commercial, and industrial HVAC systems.

Capacity Range: Cartridge fuses are readily available on the market with a capacity range from 1 A to 25 A, with additional specifications available upon request.

Producing or designing these fuses is not overly complicated; they are inexpensive, widely available, and often locally manufactured. You can choose the appropriate fuse based on your requirements from a local supplier.
