What Are Temperature Gauges in HVAC?
In HVAC systems, a temperature gauge, often referred to as a thermometer, measures and displays the temperature of air, refrigerant, or other fluids to ensure optimal performance and comfort.
Like pressure gauges, temperature gauges are essential components in HVAC systems and are classified as safety devices. These gauges or thermometers come in various shapes based on their specific applications, but are commonly used in HVAC systems.
Typically, they are found in chillers and associated components, such as pipes and fittings, to monitor the temperatures of chilled water and refrigerant in Direct Expansion (DX) units.
Temperature meters are available in both analogue (dial) and digital formats. For heavy-duty applications, we recommend analogue gauges. While they may have lower accuracy compared to digital ones, they are designed to withstand extreme climate conditions.
